Building a startup can feel isolating. Whether you’re launching your first company, growing a small business, or exploring your next big idea, success often comes down to who you know as much as what you build.
That’s exactly why the Sacramento Summer Startup Party has become one of the region’s most anticipated events. Returning on Thursday, August 20, this annual gathering brings together founders, entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, and startup supporters for an evening designed to spark new opportunities.
If you’re looking to grow your network, discover valuable resources, or simply reconnect with Sacramento’s entrepreneurial community, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
A Sacramento Tradition for Founders
Since 2014, the Sacramento Summer Startup Party has served as the region’s signature summer celebration for the startup ecosystem. Created through a partnership between The Urban Hive and Startup Grind Sacramento, the event continues to bring together the people and organizations helping shape innovation across the region.
This year’s event is presented in partnership with StartupSac, MedStart, Startup Folsom, and Sac Tech Social, making it one of the largest gatherings of startup support organizations in Northern California.
Whether you’re just beginning your entrepreneurial journey or already growing a company, you’ll find opportunities to meet people who understand the challenges and excitement of building something new.

Showcase Your Startup Without Stepping on Stage
Have a startup, side project, or innovative idea you want to get in front of Sacramento’s startup community? The Silent Pitch Competition at the Sacramento Summer Startup Party gives founders a different way to share what they are building, no traditional pitch required.
Instead of taking the stage, startups showcase their ideas through a professionally displayed poster while founders, investors, judges, and community members walk around, ask questions, and vote for their favorites. Participants can compete for $5,000 in cash and in-kind prizes, including Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards.
StartupSac is partnering with The Urban Hive and Startup Grind Sacramento to help recruit startups for the competition. Applications are $25, with a full refund if you are not accepted, and close August 14.
Apply by August 14 to secure your chance to participate in the Silent Pitch Competition. Purchase your $25 pitch ticket here.
Meet the Organizations Supporting Entrepreneurs
One of the greatest advantages of attending is the chance to meet the organizations working year-round to help entrepreneurs succeed.
Representatives from ecosystem partners will be available throughout the event, making it easy to learn about accelerators, educational programs, funding opportunities, networking groups, and community resources that can help move your business forward.
You may even discover programs or partnerships you didn’t know existed.
Keep the Momentum Going
The networking doesn’t stop when the official event ends.
After the Summer Startup Party wraps up, attendees are invited to continue the conversations at the official after party hosted by Sac Tech Social at La Cosecha, just a block away.
Many meaningful business relationships begin during informal conversations, making the after party another great opportunity to expand your network.
