A Practical Startup Workshop for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

If you have a business idea but aren’t sure how to take the first step, you are not alone. Many early-stage founders get stuck between inspiration and execution. Sacramento is full of people with promising ideas — what’s often missing is guidance, structure, and a supportive community to help move that idea forward.

That’s exactly what The Academy (Sacramento Entrepreneurship Academy) is offering at this upcoming workshop during Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Event Details

From Idea to Action: A Startup Workshop for Aspiring Founders
Date: Thursday, November 20
Time: 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Location: Weintraub Tobin, 400 Capitol Mall, 11th Floor, Sacramento
Cost: Free

This session is designed specifically for early-stage entrepreneurs, especially those who want to learn how to validate, shape, and take meaningful action on a business idea.

What You’ll Learn

The workshop focuses on clarity and momentum — without jargon, complex frameworks, or the pressure to already have your business figured out.

We’ll introduce Value Proposition Lite, a simple and practical tool that helps you identify:

  • Who your customer is

  • What problem they need solved

  • What promise your idea makes to address that problem

This framework helps you articulate your idea clearly and identify what to test next — a critical skill in the early stages of entrepreneurship.

A Different Kind of Startup Workshop

This is not a lecture or pitch event. It is:

  • Hands-on – You’ll work on your idea directly during the workshop

  • Beginner-friendly – No business plan or pitch deck required

  • Supportive – You’ll meet others who are also in the early stages

  • Action-focused – You’ll leave with 2–3 realistic next steps

Hear From a Founder Who Has Been There

We’ll also feature a short alumni story, where a recent graduate of The Academy shares how they moved from idea to traction — and how the program helped them gain confidence and direction.

Learning from someone who has taken those first steps can be the push that makes your idea feel real — and possible.
