For Sacramento Startup Happy Hour in June, StartupSac and the Carlsen Center focused on female entrepreneurs with an overview of the FourthWave accelerator program and a discussion with a panel of funded female founders on the lessons they’ve learned in raising seed funding from angel investors.

In Part 1 of the event, Cheryl Beninga, co-founder of the FourthWave accelerator program, introduced the FourthWave program with an explanation of the program by Jessie Becker Alexander, Entrepreneur in Residence at the Carlsen Center plus some storytelling on the FourthWave experience from alumna, Sarah Park, Amy Wister, and Anna Strauss. In the second portion of the event Cheryl led a panel discussion around FourthWave’s vision of a world where female entrepreneurs receive 50% of venture funding, talking with three local women entrepreneurs who are helping to make this a reality. The panelists included:
