In 2006, Dr. Marrone founded Marrone Bio Innovations (MBII). In August 2013, she led the company to list on the NASDAQ stock exchange, raising net proceeds of $56.4 million. Bioceres Crop Solutions (NASDAQ:BIOX) acquired the company in 2022 for $260 million. Currently, she serves as the Co-founder and Executive Chair of Invasive Species Corporation, a startup focused on bringing biological solutions to control invasive pests in water, forestry, and agriculture.

About Dr. Pam Marrone

Dr. Pam Marrone

Dr. Pam Marrone has dedicated her 30+ year career to focusing on biological products for pest management and plant health. She successfully started and led three bioagriculture companies: Entotech, AgraQuest, and Marrone Bio Innovations (now known as Profarm Group), all of which were acquired by larger companies.

Currently, along with co-founder Jim Boyd, who previously served as CFO of Marrone Bio, Pam is in the process of launching her fourth company, the Invasive Species Control Corporation, and its corresponding Invasive Species Foundation. The aim is to introduce effective and environmentally friendly biological solutions to combat destructive invasive species, including invasive carp, zebra and quagga mussels, bark beetles, and toxic algae.

Pam actively contributes to various organizations and boards. She serves on the board of the Foundation for Food and Agricultural Research and is a Senior Fellow of the Arizona State University Swette Center for Sustainable Food Systems. Additionally, she has been a past alumni-Trustee of Cornell University. Pam also holds the position of Chair of the Board at Elicit-Plant and is a board member of 180 Life Sciences (NASDAQ: ATNF), Stem Express, and Pheronym. She provides advisory support to numerous agtech and agbio startups, many of which are founded or led by women.

Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Pam has received many awards, including the prestigious American Chemical Society “Kathryn C. Hach Award for Entrepreneurial Success” in 2022. She earned a B.S. in entomology with Honors and Distinction from Cornell University and holds a Ph.D. in entomology from North Carolina State University. As a Fellow of the AAAS and with over 400 patents to her name, she continues to drive innovation in the field of biological solutions for agriculture and pest management.
