The Sacramento startup and innovation ecosystem keeps changing and evolving at a pace that is sometimes difficult to keep up with. When I first created the circuit board diagram, aka subway map, of Sacramento’s startup ecosystem I expected it to be a living, evolving diagram, but I had no idea that the changes would come at the pace they have been this year.

Today I’ve released the most recent version of the diagram, Sacramento Startup and Innovation Ecosystem Circuit Board v2.0. This version includes several additions of new entities, many of which are a result of the City’s RAILS grants. There are also some additions that have been around but I’ve only recently become aware of. You can read about some of these additions in this previous article, New Additions to Sacramento’s Innovation Ecosystem.

It’s worth pointing out again that I don’t believe this diagram is perfect by any means. It’s a representation that is admittedly somewhat subjective, based on my understanding of the ecosystem.
