It’s historic! For the first time ever, Sacramento has a qualifying event for the Startup World Cup! As the name implies, the Startup World Cup is a global competition that culminates next month in San Francisco where startups from around the world will compete for $1 million in investment. You can be a part of history in the making by coming out to Rock & Brews in Sacramento tomorrow at 5:30 PM to watch 10 startups compete to move on to the semifinals. Learn who the 10 finalists are and RSVP here.

Another historical first, the Startup Challenge,  a new program designed by Cameron Law, Josh David Miller, and myself, is happening the weekend of September 23-25. Hosted by and held at the Carlsen Center at Sac State, the Startup Challenge is a weekend of DOING where we focus on providing founders and early-stage teams with a dedicated space for experimenting and making traction. The weekend caters to two different cohorts. The Catalyst Cohort is for brand new ideas, and anyone is welcome to participate. The Traction Cohort is for existing startups, who may or may not have a product or customers yet, but have not raised investment yet. Find out more and register to attend here.
