“Imagine a city where the business leaders unite, a place where civic leaders rally to help the most innovative companies in the region. Imagine a city that’s a living laboratory fostering creativity, tech innovation, and social impact. Entrepreneurs launching companies here that solve the world’s biggest problems. With policy, infrastructure, outreach, and vision we might ignite an entrepreneurial revolution right here in the hometown we love. These aren’t ordinary dreams. Nope these dreams are made in Sacramento.”

So goes the opening video montage featuring hosts and creators Mark Haney and Louis Stewart in each video of a new series launched today to showcase the work of entrepreneurs and innovators building companies and products in the region.

Mark Haney, founder of HaneyBiz and the voice of entrepreneurship in the Sacramento region co-hosts a new YouTube mini-series, Made in Sacramento, with Louis Stewart, Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Sacramento.

The Made in Sacramento series highlights the stories of 12 inspiring entrepreneurs and innovators that have chosen to build their companies and products here in Sacramento. Featured companies include: Trifecta, Foodjets, Skyslope, Zipi, eScreenLogic, Studio T Urban Dance Academy, Department of Sound, Sparck, Humanly, VentureHR, Blue Diamond Almonds and Mohanna Development.

“I have long believed in the power of sharing the story of entrepreneurs – all of whom must overcome obstacles to achieve success,” says Mark Haney. “Many of our local founders and small business owners have been battling serious challenges over these last few months. I am more committed than ever to lifting them up, providing support through programs like our new Sacramento Growth Factory, and to promoting these heroes of our American economy.”

“Sacramento has a rich history of innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Louis Stewart. “This pandemic is challenging the best of us and it’s going to take true resilience to overcome what is ahead. These stories are an example of the diversity in thought that will be necessary in order to rebuild our economy.”

Filmed almost entirely before the COVID-19 shutdowns began, these segments are infused with the optimism that so many were feeling as the year began and they represent the potential that still exists. Get to know these companies that continue to innovate, adapt and grow despite all that has happened.

The series is available on YouTube, the HaneyBiz site and at MeetMrStewart.com.
