Future Worlds Symposium, organized by the ACM Sacramento Chapter, will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Vinton Cerf, also popularly known as the Father of the Internet. Dr. Cerf is an American Internet pioneer and a co-designer of the TCP/IP protocols and architecture of the Internet.
His contributions have been acknowledged and lauded repeatedly with the National Medal of Technology, the Turing Award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Marconi Prize and membership in the National Academy of Engineering and Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.
Dr. Cerf began his work at the US Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) playing a key role in leading the development of Internet and Internet-related data packet and security technologies. Since 2005, he has served as vice president and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google.
