National Hispanic Heritage Month is underway! Running from September 15 through October 15, it’s an opportunity for all of us to pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. There are several startup community events coming up that celebrate Hispanic Americans’ contributions in entrepreneurship and innovation — I hope to see you at one or more!
First up is StartupSac Happy Hour in partnership with the Carlsen Center and Hacker Lab this Wednesday at 5 PM. Featured guest Gina Lujan, co-founder and CEO of Hacker Lab, is a social entrepreneur, focusing on building community, business development, innovation, strategic planning and regional economic development. And if you know a thing or two about Gina, you know she’s always got a new venture in the works! RSVP
On Tuesday, October 6 at 5 PM, the Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is featuring an Ask Me Anything with Robert Rodriguez, founder and CEO of Cambria Solutions. Robert is a serial entrepreneur and was recognized as the Entrepreneur of the Year by the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2020. RSVP
