Earlier this week, the Kauffman Foundation held its 2019 State of Entrepreneurship Address. One of the standout messages from the address is that we can all play a role in creating a more inclusive and prosperous economy by supporting local entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship creates jobs, spurs innovation, and boosts community wealth. But only three out of every 1,000 people start a business each month. The remaining 997 can all play a role in helping them build their businesses, in ways big and small.

“Too many communities concentrate on attracting businesses from afar instead of growing them at home. In a thriving ecosystem, entrepreneurship empowers individuals; improves standards of living; and creates jobs, wealth, and innovation in the economy. We also know that new businesses create almost all net new jobs and improve our quality of life.” ~ Kauffman Foundation
