Video: Fun with ChatGPT Workshop

Startup Grind Sacramento in Partnership with Startup Folsom and Granite City Coworking hosted this workshop that showed some of the things that can be done with  OpenAI’s newest tool, ChatGPT.

About the Speakers

Jacob Rangel is an accomplished copywriter and marketer with a background in AI, who is known for his ability to craft compelling stories that showcase the value and capabilities of cutting-edge technology products and services. He has spent the last 2 years working with a fintech startup, helping accountants leverage AI to improve the quality and speed of their work. Passionate about the future, Jacob is an expert at explaining how bleeding-edge technology can be applied to businesses of all sizes, making him a sought-after speaker in the field of AI.

 

 

Kevin Weiler graduated from Santa Clara University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, followed by an Master of Science in Engineering Management in 2010. He began his career working on projects for NASA, developing top-secret signal intelligence software for Applied Signal Technology (AST) using C++, Perl, and Java. Kevin was proud to contribute to the software that helped capture Osama Bin Laden. AST was acquired by Raytheon in 2010.

Kevin moved into mobile technology in 2010 and worked on the Barnes and Noble Nook app, bringing their book store and reader to mobile. He then joined a location mapping startup called Pins, which was acquired and shut down by Square in early 2014. Kevin stayed in San Jose as a freelance mobile developer, creating several personal hobby apps. He then took a role as software lead at Spark Networks, becoming the primary developer of JSwipe, the number one Jewish dating app since 2014. As the founding engineer, Kevin helped grow the development team from one to three and the user base from zero to a million active users. JSwipe was sold to Spark in late 2015, and its app, architecture, and API have been copied and re-skinned into other dating apps.

In 2017, Kevin founded his company “Layer One,” which was sold after six months to the crypto company, XYO. At XYO, he discovered Flutter and started building their Flutter framework and smart contracts to validate location data based on real-world interactions. In 2020, he founded, Pooli, an essential app for pool and spa owners, which has seen remarkable success, growing organically from 0 to 35,000 users in less than three years. With his vast experience in software development, Kevin continues to push the boundaries of mobile technology, creating innovative solutions to everyday problems.
