StartupSac and the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Sac State welcomed two successful startup founders to June’s Startup Happy Hour — EV Life co-founder Kevin Favro, and EyeRate co-founder Ray Weisberg!

Both of these startups launched their businesses in the Greater Sacramento region in 2019. They leveraged resources available in our community to advance their companies. In March, EV Life took the $10,000 first place prize at Pitch Elk Grove. In April, EyeRate took the $10,000 first place prize at Kings Capitalize. Both went through pitch training in StartupSac Warm-Up Pitch.

Cameron Law, Executive Director of the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Sac State, interviewed Kevin Favro and Ray Weisberg and then opened it up to the audience for an “AMA” (ask me anything).

ABOUT EV LIFE

Founded in 2019, EV Life’s mission is to connect people with opportunities to build a safer, more sustainable world. The company’s first product is a web platform that makes it easier to find and finance an electric car. EV Life does this through a user-friendly interface that brings together car shopping tools, charging and range calculators, and an EV Climate Loan that saves drivers up to $200 per month on financing.

ABOUT EYERATE

EyeRate began in 2019 in co-founders Michael and Mitchell Arredondo’s garage with assistance from Mike Pieri and Raymond Weisberg. All 4 worked low wage jobs from restaurants to car washes. Today, EyeRate is creating a new category of business that helps employees earn more for high performance. EyeRate is backed by The City of Elk Grove, Jason Calacanis, LAUNCH, and Mucker Capital.
