Last week both the Capital Region AR VR Accelerator and Founder Institute Sacramento had Demo events. I had a chance to see pitches from over a dozen startups who’ve been working hard the last few months to get it all together. Special recognition goes out to SAMA Learning who won “best of show” for the AR VR Accelerator Demo Day. They’re using a VR platform to enhance learning at the college level. Way cool! I first saw their idea pitched about 18 months ago at 1 Million Cups. It’s so fun to watch founders go from idea to fundable! You can view all the AR VR Accelerator startups here.

Three of the Founder Institute Sacramento graduates are familiar faces in our startup community — Bubbl – a safe way to date, CreditVida – a blockchain-based credit bureau, TAGCarts – medical carts and workstations with evidence-based design. All three have presented at 1 Million Cups and are frequent attendees of events listed in the startup digest. Congrats to all!

Sacramento Entrepreneurship Academy has their 28th Annual Showcase Event on May 9 — we’ll have more startups to celebrate then! The event is open to the public but you need to purchase a ticket here.
