Pitch is the Word!

Pitch is the WORD this month! No, I’m not talking about the start of baseball season. We’re talking startup pitching for investment capital! StartupSac and Josh David Miller (JDM) have an online workshop on creating your pitch deck this Tuesday at 11:30 AM. Startup Folsom, StartupSac and NCID are launching a new monthly online pitch workshop where up to five founders will present their pitch for feedback (apply here). And finally, the deadline to apply for Pitch Elk Grove, a contest with $17,500 in award money up for grabs, is Monday, April 17 at 5 PM.

Sacramento Creative Business Innovation Challenge
Application deadline is April 16
A 6-week intensive course for Sacramento-based creative business owners. The goal of the program is to support and grow underserved and minority-owned creative businesses in food, fashion, design, festival and cultural experiences, game design, film, media, music and entertainment, and other areas. Read more.

Pitch Elk Grove
Application deadline is April 17
Pitch Elk Grove provides innovative, early stage, investable startups the opportunity to showcase their companies at a live pitch event on May 18 in Elk Grove. Prize money of $17,500 will be awarded: Best Startup $10k, Runner Up $5k, and Best Elk Grove-based Startup $2.5k.  Apply here.
