This week, my focus is on startups saving the world by solving problems related to global sustainability. That’s something every one of us can get behind! On Wednesday morning, 1 Million Cups will feature two companies that are tackling different pieces of the equation. EVLife (winner of Folsom Startup Weekend in April) is making it easier for consumers to select the right electric vehicle for their lifestyle. RePurpose Energy, who was awarded significant prize money in the UC Davis Big Bang last month, has created a way to store electrical energy using “second life” batteries.

Want to find out more about how you can save the world? Come to a free workshop on Thursday evening that I’ll be co-teaching. The workshop, Pitching Your Idea at Startup Weekend, will explain how Global Startup Weekend Sustainable Revolution (June 21-23) will work, including detailed information about the 15 Sustainable Challenges innovators will focus on for the event, and the global competition. And of course there will be tips for pitching your idea.

Startup Weekend Sustainable Revolution is less than two weeks away! If you’re planning to participate, it would be a huge help to the all-volunteer organizer team if you’d register now. You can do that here and don’t forget to use promo code “digest” for $25 off!
