News-01Since launching this site last September I’ve essentially immersed myself in the Sacramento startup scene – trying to stay on top of everything going on in our startup community. It’s an exciting yet formidable task and it seems with each passing month there’s more and more going on and I find myself missing certain announcements or developments in our community. So I realized, if I’m having a tough time keeping up with it, and I spend several hours every week just trying to track what’s going on, then there has to be a lot of news that most people are missing as the endless river of news and Twitter feeds flows by each day.

With that in mind, I thought I might start a new weekly feature –  a curated listing of Sacramento startups in the news to make it easier for people to find and keep track of what’s going on with our regional startups. This is a bit of a different perspective on things than the Startup Digest weekly newsletter and post that Laura Good and I co-curate in that this is more focused on news that has been reported in mainstream media rather than upcoming events.

Here’s what I came across this last week about Sacramento area startups. Most of these were reported by Mark Anderson at the Sacramento Business Journal, a great source for startup news. Click through the links to read the stories.
