As a founder of your own company, technically you aren’t “labor” — so should you take the day off on Labor Day? If you’re reading this on Monday, it may be a sign that you ARE working. I’d like to encourage you to shut down the laptop, hide your mobile phone at the bottom of the laundry basket and treat yourself to a holiday! Nothing’s happening today in Sacramento’s startup community so you might as well enjoy the beautiful day and mindfully recharge (also put those white shoes in the top of the closet)!

Calling for Presenters! 1 Million Cups is now filling its September schedule. If you are a founder of an early stage startup, submit your presentation application. 1 Million Cups meets every Wednesday morning from 9-10 am. At each session, two startup founders give a six-minute presentation which is followed by 15 minutes of feedback and Q&A from the attendees. Every Wednesday in September except 9/4 has presenter openings. We’re meeting in Sacramento every Wednesday except for September 25 when we’ll be at Granite City Coworking in Folsom. Apply to Present and then I’ll work with you to find a convenient date. Let me know if you have any questions about the program.
