Turnout to Sacramento’s first 1 Million Cups event exceeds organizers’ expectations.

Over 45 people showed up at the top floor of the Renaissance Tower downtown for Sacramento’s inaugural 1 Million Cups event. 1 Million Cups Sacramento is a weekly event where Sacramento area entrepreneurs can meet to share their ideas, get great feedback from other entrepreneurs and network.

Jack Crawford, General Partner at Velocity VC and key in bringing the 1 Million Cups program to Sacramento, kicked things off before hearing from our two presenters.

Clarice Baca, co-founder of Sacramento startup Activity Jungle had the honor of being the first presenter ever at 1 Million Cups Sacramento.

Showing what a great, supportive startup community we have here in Sacramento, the audience was eager to pitch in and help, asking some great questions of or our presenters as well as offering great ideas and advice for the startups to consider and incorporate into their business model.

Our second presenter of the morning was Dave Malby, founder of GripTough who presented his Wedge-It cell phone mount.

Dave also received a lot of great questions and feedback from the audience which goes to show just what a valuable resource this program and format can be for local startups.

The morning wasn’t without glitches unfortunately. We had planned to live-stream the event via Facebook Live, but ran into some technical issues. You can see the first presentation on the 1 Million Cups Facebook page and the videos of both presentations will be available on YouTube.

As part of the organizing team for 1 Million Cups Sacramento I’d like to thank our coffee sponsor for this week, Temple Coffee Roasters for caffeinating everyone, Velocity Venture Capital for the space, and of course all those who came out today and contributed to building Sacramento’s startup ecosystem. We look forward to see you all again next week when we’ll be hearing from WimZr and Sievent. Check out the 1 Million Cups Sacramento website for more details on these two Sacramento startups.
