January is National Mentoring Month and this year, our region REALLY has something to celebrate! In November, the City of Sacramento, with the help of partners like StartupSac and the Carlsen Center, launched the Mentor Sacramento platform. Since launch, hundreds of you have signed up on the platform to get free mentoring. And more mentors are signing up every day to help you!

I’m both a mentor and a “mentee” on the platform. I’ve mentored four entrepreneurs since the platform launched in November and I’ve also received mentoring myself on how to make StartupSac sustainable.

Have you checked out the platform yet? If not or if you have and would like some additional guidance, last month StartupSac held an Office Hours session on getting started. You can view it here. If you have questions about Mentor Sacramento, please send them my way. If I can’t answer them, I’ll find someone who can.

Another regional mentoring tradition is the Sacramento Business Journal’s annual Bizwomen Mentoring Monday. This event offers attendees the opportunity to meet women from all different industries who will hold group discussions with mentees. This year, it will be held virtually on February 22 and it’s FREE. Learn more here.

Peer-to-peer mentoring is something I highly recommend as well. And it’s easy to find your peers when you join the StartupSac Community Facebook Group. Startup founders and those who support the growth of our startup community connect and exchange ideas in this private moderated group.
