Introducing Pitch Elk Grove – an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to showcase their business, receive mentorship, and win prize money for their business.

Startups need to be able to communicate their innovative business to investors and customers. The opportunity for founders to hone their presentation skills can go far in preparing them to pitch to investors. It also helps provide visibility of their business to the community at large.

Are you a Sacramento region startup looking to spotlight your startup, get valuable coaching, and get the chance to win some serious prize money? Pitch Elk Grove is a new startup pitch contest that provides innovative, investable startups in the Greater Sacramento region with the opportunity to showcase their companies in-person at a public pitch event to take place Thursday, March 31, 2022 at The Center at District 56 in Elk Grove.

$17,500 Prize Money to be Awarded!

Prize money of $17,500, provided by the City of Elk Grove, will be awarded to the first place, second place, and audience favorite startups.

Best Startup: $10,000
Second Best Startup: $5,000
Audience Favorite: $2,500

Location: IN-PERSON EVENT – The Center at District 56 – The Sheldon Room in Elk Grove

Startups based in the counties of Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, San Joaquin, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba are eligible to apply online until Noon on Tuesday, February 22.

The Pitch Elk Grove event process will include an initial selection of up to 16 semi-finalist startups who will move on to the semi-finalist pitch-off — a virtual event to determine up to eight finalists that will present IN-PERSON in Elk Grove at the final event.

Eligibility Requirements

Ideal candidates will:

  • Be an emerging or scaling tech company in a tech vertical commercializing innovative products and platforms
  • Have a working prototype/MVP
  • Be generating revenue or close to it
  • Be located in one of the seven regional counties: Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, Sutter, Yuba, San Joaqin
  • Submit a pitch deck as part of the application
  • Be able to attend the IN-PERSON event at Elk Grove on March 31, 2022

The Startup Elk Grove Incentive Program provides technical and financial assistance to launching and scaling startups, and for co-working and incubator facilities that support them. To qualify, startups must operate in Elk Grove and be an emerging or scaling company commercializing innovative products and platforms in most tech verticals.
