In 2017, Founder Institute launched it’s inaugural Sacramento cohort, graduating several startups, who persevered through many grinding months of hard work to complete the program.

Founder Institute (FI) is a pre-seed startup accelerator that has helped over 3,100 companies raise over $700M. Based in Silicon Valley and with chapters across 60 countries, the Founder Institute’s mission is to “Globalize Silicon Valley” and empower talented and motivated people to build impactful companies that create one million jobs.

Backed by the success of the 2017 cohort, Sacramento program directors have opened up applications for the Sacramento Fall cohort. Given the experience of the first Sacramento graduates, 2018 promises to be a valuable experience for those who participate.

“Diamonds are produced under pressure, and all of our graduates are evidence of that,” remarked Mariah Lichtenstern, managing director for FI Sacramento. “As grueling as it was at times, I’m so glad that Veronica, Craig, and I, along with all the amazing mentors, were able to get to know and support these fantastic founders. When you go through something this intense, it builds camaraderie, and founders need fellowship with others who understand the unique drive we share. That’s a very special part of FI – the local team, the support of headquarters in Silicon Valley, and the global network who all know what graduates have endured. Now, I want to see our grads go out, participate in other startup activities, take advantage of our region’s resources, and contribute to the ecosystem.”

Who Should Apply?
The Founder Institute focuses on founders instead of ideas. If you are talented and motivated to do the work required to build an enduring tech or tech-enabled company, then we want to hear from you. This includes aspiring founders with a full-time job, solo founders, teams, and founders of established companies that are pre-funding.
