The spotlight is on 1 Million Cups this week. It’s more than just an event — it’s a community! A program of the Kauffman Foundation, it’s based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee. The Sacramento Chapter launched in September 2016 and since then, over 200 early stage startups and small businesses have presented at this weekly founder forum. It’s not an investment pitch — it’s an opportunity to share your business plan with other founders and get feedback from our community. It’s become the weekly founder coffee for our region. The event is officially from 9-10 a.m. but the post-event networking is where co-founders have connected, alliances have been made and collaborations have been started. If you’re a founder and haven’t yet attended 1 Million Cups, you really ought to check it out! This week, 1 Million Cups is happening at The Blocs in Arden-Arcade. You can find out all the details and RSVP here. If you’d like to give your 6-minute pitch at a future event, you can apply here. We’re currently filling open spots in August. (Placer County folks — there is a weekly 1 Million Cups Gold Country in Auburn that meets from 8-9am on Wednesdays).
