The Women Startup Competition has selected Sacramento as the first U.S. city to participate in the semi-finals of this annual competition which first launched in Budapest in 2012. Women founders are invited to participate in the 2-day bootcamp to be held May 5-6 at Impact Venture Capital and then give a 2-minute pitch at the Impact Global Venture Summit on May 8 where they will receive feedback, advice and business opportunities from an industry expert panel. Note: Participants must purchase admission to the Impact Global Venture Summit to pitch at the event. StartupSac has access to $25 tickets via a 75% off special promotion.
The winner of the Sacramento semi-finals will be invited to join finalists from cities from around the world for the 5th Annual final competition in London in September. There they will participate in a week long mentoring program and a Demo Day event. Hotel, event fees and most meals will be covered; participants pay for their own transportation. Teams can apply to participate through May 3, 2018 through F6S.
The aim of the Women Startup Competition (WSC) is to grow the presence of women in business, and in order to do this they provide training and opportunities for more-and-more gender diverse startups to realize their dreams and encourage them to do what they love to do. This series of competitions increases the number of innovative enterprises where the majority of the founders are women. The WSC would like to improve the knowledge of female
entrepreneurs, encourage and help them, and would also like to connect them with leading corporate innovation centers, venture capitalists, angel investors and other possible traction generation partners.
WHO CAN APPLY
Startups which have at least 50% women on the entrepreneurial team or a female CEO or female founder.
