Building Pathways for the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

Early giving for Big Day of Giving starts Thursday, April 23, and StartupSac is working toward a $12,000 goal to help expand access to entrepreneurship and economic opportunity in Sacramento. Not every young adult in Sacramento sees a clear path forward. Some are working part-time jobs without advancement, while others are not enrolled in college and lack access to professional networks. Many have ideas, talent, and drive but no roadmap to turn that potential into something real.

StartupSac was built to help people turn ideas into action.

Since 2017, StartupSac has supported aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage founders by providing practical education, mentorship, and access to a strong local network. The goal is simple: help people move from idea to action with the right tools and support.

Expanding Opportunity in 2026

In 2026, StartupSac is launching a Youth Workforce and Economic Pathways initiative focused on young adults ages 18 to 24. This program is designed for those who are not on a traditional college path but are ready to build skills and explore new opportunities.

Participants will gain hands-on exposure to entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workforce readiness. More importantly, they will build real connections with mentors, founders, and professionals across Sacramento’s innovation ecosystem.

This is not a lecture-based program. It is designed to be practical, interactive, and directly tied to real-world outcomes.

Community support helps make programs like this possible and keeps them accessible to the young adults who need them most. Your gift during Big Day of Giving helps StartupSac turn opportunity into action.

Why This Work Matters

Many young adults in Sacramento are navigating uncertainty. Without access to guidance, networks, or structured opportunities, it becomes difficult to take the next step toward a stable career or business.

StartupSac is addressing this gap by creating clear and accessible pathways. Through mentorship, workshops, and cohort-based learning, participants gain not only knowledge but also confidence and direction.

Programs like this are essential for building a stronger and more inclusive local economy. When individuals are given the opportunity to grow, the entire community benefits.

What Support Makes Possible

StartupSac has already secured initial support from Golden 1 Credit Union, with additional public funding under review. However, grant funding alone does not cover the full scope of what is needed to deliver high-quality programming.

Community support allows StartupSac to:

  • Keep programs accessible regardless of income
  • Provide hands-on instruction and mentorship
  • Strengthen partnerships across Sacramento’s business community
  • Maintain strong program delivery and accountability

This year, StartupSac is raising $12,000 through Big Day of Giving to support operations and program expansion.

Creating Real Impact

When you support StartupSac, you are not funding an idea. You are investing in real people who are looking for direction, opportunity, and a way forward.

Participants leave with tangible skills, stronger networks, and clear next steps. Whether they launch a business, secure a job, or continue building their skills, the impact is immediate and long-term.

Wrap Up

StartupSac is building something that goes beyond education. It is creating access, opportunity, and momentum for young adults who are ready to take action but need support to get there. As Big Day of Giving approaches, your contribution helps ensure more individuals can access these pathways and build a future in Sacramento’s economy. If you believe in creating more opportunity through entrepreneurship, we hope you’ll support StartupSac today.
