Does your local startup or established business have an innovative product, process or service? Maybe your clients or colleagues are disrupting an industry and deserve to be recognized?

Since 2016, the Sacramento Region Innovation Awards have been celebrating technology innovation in the Sacramento region. The Sacramento Region Innovation Awards recognize the area’s vibrant innovation community, from emerging to established companies, and their breakthrough creations. After an unplanned hiatus in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Innovation Awards are returning in 2021, thanks to the Sacramento Business Journal and Stoel Rives.

If your company has a product, process, or service that deserves recognition for its creative concept, nominate it for the 2021 Sacramento Region Innovation Awards. Deadline for nominations is July 12, 2021. The Sacramento Region Innovation Awards recognize the area’s vibrant innovation community – from emerging to established companies – and their breakthrough creations. Submit your company’s innovation before the deadline next month!

Submissions for the Sacramento Region Innovation Awards are judged on novelty, market need, economic impact and disruption. The innovation must be created, produced, or deployed in the Greater Sacramento region. The Greater Sacramento-region is defined as Butte, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Solano (east of Fairfield), Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties. If you know of an innovative product, service, or process that should be considered, submit an application before July 12. Self-nominations are encouraged.

Nomination Categories include:

  • Advanced Manufacturing, Construction & Design
  • Food & Agribusiness
  • Government, Civic & Mobility
  • Hardware & Electronics
  • Medical & Health: MedTech
  • Medical & Health: BioPharma
  • Software (consumer/enterprise, social media, apps, gaming, cloud, big data)
  • Sustainability (including clean technology, energy, water, climate change adaptation, green building)

Program Timeline:

  • Nominations open June 3 – July 12
  • Judging period August 1 – September 11 (nominees may be asked to provide supplemental presentations, either in person or via remote connection)
  • All Nominee Reception & VIP Pre-Party: TBD
  • Finalists announced – Mid-September
  • Winners announced at November Awards Ceremony & Innovation Showcase Reception!
