Day of Caring

Every year for the last 5 years, United Way’s Day of Caring has brought together volunteers across the region to work on service projects that will make an impact. This year, StartupSac is taking on one of the projects and inviting Sacramento’s startup community to volunteer with us! We’re mustering volunteers for the Women of Color on the Move Community Farms for Families project on Saturday, Sept 23 from 9am-Noon. If you’d like to help, sign up for this project on the United Way website and list “StartupSac” as the company name so we’ll know you’re with us! http://www.yourlocalunitedway.org/post/women-color-move-community-farms-families

Women of Color on the Move is committed to helping women, youth, and communities thrive. They are working at several multi-family housing units along Mack Road to provide workforce training and development, and STEM programming to enrich the lives of the community members, and help them to become financially self-sufficient. To promote an overall healthy and thriving lifestyle, community beautification, and opportunities to learn about urban farming, they would like to create urban farms and community gardens at the multi-family housing units they work with on Mack Road. And they need your help!
