If you are a woman founder or a woman who wants to become a founder, there are some exciting events coming up this month and into February that will be of interest to you! Guys — these events are for you as well! Gender diversity includes both men and women!

This Week

Tuesday evening, Startup Grind features a panel discussion with the graduates of FourthWave, an accelerator for female founders. Men and women alike will learn much as they discuss their year long journey in the program! Use promo code “digest” when you register and save $5!

Also Tuesday evening, The Makers Place, a new coworking facility in Sacramento with childcare, has its grand opening reception at 5:30pm. There is no other coworking space in the region that offers onsite childcare!

On Thursday evening, join the Startup Weekend team at Hacker Lab for a free workshop on Coming Up with a Startup Idea. If launching your own company was one of your goals for 2018, this workshop will help you understand the recipe for a good idea!

Next Month

February 9-11 is Global Women’s Startup Weekend and we’re holding one in Sacramento! Startup Weekend helps you go from an idea to a business in just 54-hours! New ideas are pitched, teams are formed around the favorites and then it gets down to business! It’s a fantastic, hands-on way to learn how to launch a startup! And of course I’ve got a discount code for you! Use “digest” in the promo code and save 35%!

Are you a female coder? There’s a new Meetup Group for women coders — Code Review. Join the group to find out about upcoming meetups. Also check out Women Who Code. They are currently exploring machine learning basics.

There’s lots of great stuff going on in the tech startup community–check out the details in this week’s Startup Digest. If you’d like to receive the digest in your inbox every Monday morning, sign up for free here. If you’ve organized (or know about) an event we have not included, please submit it here for consideration. And for even more startup information, happenings and resources, visit the StartupSac Website.  Note: We include a lot of tech events that aren’t necessarily startup-focused on the event calendar on the StartupSac website.
