Women — when you were a young girl, did you believe you could be anything? Dads — do you encourage your daughters to follow their dreams? The truth is, girls get a lot of encouragement to break gender career molds when they are young but once they get their first real job, this positive encouragement stops. And if they are in a technical job, it’s even more lonely than other careers. Not only will they not find encouragement, they will also find that they don’t have the same access to advancement opportunities as men.

This Thursday, an important conversation is taking place at InnoGrove coworking in Elk Grove. Janine Yancey, founder and CEO of Emtrain, will lead a panel of female technologists in a discussion about Gender-Bias in the Technology Workplace. If we collectively want to make progress in eliminating gender-bias, both men and women need to participate in the dialogue. Do it for your daughters, your sisters, your wives, yourself — attend this free event Thursday from 6:30-8:00. RSVP here.
