Do you think you have to be in your twenties or thirties to launch a startup? If you believe what you read in the popular press and media, it would be easy to get the notion that all startup founders are young entrepreneurs who’ve dropped out of college. But according to the Kauffman Index Startup Activity National Trends 2015 this isn’t the case at all. In fact, the age group that has seen the biggest percentage increase since 1996 has been the 45-54 age group and the biggest declines are in the 20-34 age group.

Furthermore, looking at the age group composition of entrepreneurs in 2014 reveals a very uniform mix among the four age groups.
