Build With Strategy. Grow With Community. Sustain With Confidence.

Starting a business is exciting. Sustaining one is the real work.

Many early stage entrepreneurs launch with passion and talent but quickly realize they need structure, strategy, and a strong network to grow with intention. The Venture Soul Entrepreneurship Program was created to close that gap.

Presented by Sistah Soul Brunch & Mixer and sponsored by SMUD, this community centered program is designed to support Black entrepreneurs who are in the ideation phase or within their first one to two years of business. If you are serious about building something sustainable, this program gives you the framework and accountability to move forward with clarity.

A Hands-On Program Built for Action

The Venture Soul Entrepreneurship Program runs from March through July 2026 at Capsity Coworking in Sacramento. Workshops are held on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM or Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, making it accessible for working professionals and founders balancing multiple responsibilities.

Each session is structured for implementation, not just inspiration:

  • One hour of focused instruction from experienced presenters
  • A 30 to 45 minute working session
  • Tangible next steps you can apply to your business immediately

This format ensures that you do not just learn concepts. You leave each workshop with real progress made.

Participation in the full program is $250, helping cover materials and program related expenses.

Who This Program Is For

This program is geared toward Black business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs who are ready to take their vision seriously.

Priority is given to applicants who:

  • Identify as Black men or women business owners or entrepreneurs
  • Have a business located in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Yolo, or San Joaquin Counties
  • Are in the ideation phase or within their first one to two years of business
  • Can commit to attending all required sessions

If you are still refining your idea or working to stabilize early traction, this is the stage where strong foundations matter most.

Real World Exposure and Pitch Experience

This program goes beyond workshops.

Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their businesses at the 4th Annual Sistah Soul Brunch & Mixer, gaining visibility and real world experience presenting to an engaged audience.

The program concludes with a Business Mixer and Pitch event. Each participant will pitch their business and compete for support to advance to their next stage of growth. This is your opportunity to articulate your value clearly, strengthen your confidence, and demonstrate the work you have built over the course of the program.
