I was super-psyched last week to learn that the Sacramento Business Journal is continuing the SARTA-legacy event, the TechEdge Celebration! It’s happening on Thursday, June 1 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm at the McClellan Conference Center. Featured speakers include Kevin Nagle, chairman and founder of Jaguar Ventures; Lokesh Sikaria, managing partner of Moneta Ventures; and a panel of CEOs from SupportPay, Fantag and Engage3. There will also be an investor panel and a TechExpo featuring local startup companies. If you support the growth of the technology industry in Sacramento and/or if you are a part of that industry, you need to be at this luncheon! There are discounts available for students and Tech Partner members (just about every coworking space in the region). Buy early to show your support!
This Week’s Best Bets
Tuesday at InnoGrove: Do you have an idea for a mobile app? Rich Foreman, CEO of Apptology, will walk you through the commercialization process in Mobile Apps — From Idea to Execution. This free workshop focuses on the business side of launching an app — you don’t need to be a programmer.
Wednesday Three-Fer: 1 Million Cups is happening from 9-10 a.m. at Impact VC in downtown and is then followed by Legal Office Hours (Stoel-Rives, Chris Russell) and Small Business Office Hours (Kyle Kassano, SBDC).
Friday is for Creatives: I just added CreativeMornings to the digest. The Sacramento Chapter is newish and bills itself as “a place for local creatives to strengthen ties, centralize ideas, and grow our community together.” Tix are released on Mondays at 11 a.m. for the Friday event and go fast. The speaker is Ryan Brijs, the creative director for the Sacramento Kings.
Saturday Grand Opening: Square One Clubs is opening its doors for the first time! Walk through their new game development focused co-working space, meet the founders, learn about their programs and more.
