StartupSac Happy Hour features Janine Yancey, Founder of Emtrain, who just raised $10 Million in growth funding.

We’re going virtual again with June’s StartupSac Happy Hour. This month we’re teaming up with the Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Sac State, as well as FourthWave, an accelerator for high potential, women-led technology businesses. FourthWave is opening applications for its next cohort this month. Our featured veteran entrepreneur will be Emtrain founder and CEO Janine Yancey, who participated in the first FourthWave cohort.

As founder and CEO of Emtrain, Janine innovated a unique technology platform that provides HR and compliance education, guidance and analytics to promote healthier organizations. Last month, Emtrain raised $10 million in growth funding to expand its interactive workforce training and feedback platform.

About FourthWave

“The Accelerator is run in a partnership between FourthWave a nonprofit organization with a proven program and the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Sacramento State. The program’s objective is to provide a cohort of women-led technology companies with mentorship and access to capital to enable them to scale to the next level. The previous Sacramento FourthWave cohort has raised over $20M dollars in funding and resulted in company recognition from Fast Company, a winner in a global FinTech pitch competition sponsored by Wells Fargo in New York City and the first national dermatology convention in Sacramento.”

FourthWave is an accelerator for high potential, women-led technology businesses. Based on the ground-breaking success of our inaugural Sacramento cohort in 2017, we are launching a strategic partnership with the esteemed Carlsen Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Sacramento State in June 2020.

Our mission: to inspire emerging cities everywhere to reimagine their local economies through the power of women-led businesses.
