The mission of StartupSac is to connect the various players in the Sacramento startup & innovation community, empower founders and entrepreneurs to be leaders in the community, and help build, galvanize and catalyze Sacramento as the next great startup & innovation ecosystem.
The excitement and energy in the Sacramento startup & innovation community right now is fantastic. There’s a lot happening on a weekly basis and staying abreast with events and news, planning and creating events and workshops to serve the community takes significant time and effort. StartupSac started as a passion project as a resource site for people in Sacramento’s startup community. It’s been self-funded until recently, when our program won a RAILS grant to help bring some enhancements to the website and to launch a mobile app. StartupSac is Sacramento’s go-to online hub for information and resources about startups in our region and we’ve got plans to provide even more value to the community through more workshops, programs, and additional online content.
To do this we’re looking to raise funds through grants, sponsorships, and crowdfunding campaigns that will enable us to dedicate the time and resources necessary to help this community reach its potential.
We’ve just launched our first crowdfunding effort on Bonfire – T-shirt fundraising made simple. Bonfire is a fundraising platform that by selling custom T-shirts. Like other crowdfunding sites, we’ve set a goal to sell a certain number of T-shirts, in this case, a modest goal of 50 T-shirts. But here’s the catch, we have to do it in the next 14 days. So, grab a limited edition StartupSac T-shirt before the campaign closes.
