About the Presenters

Meagan Bainbridge s a shareholder in Weintraub Tobin’s Labor and Employment and Litigation practice groups. She regularly defends employers against various employment claims in both state and federal courts, and before various administrative agencies, including claims for breach of contract, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, unfair business practices, violation of wage and hour laws, as well as numerous other tort and statutory employment law causes of action.

Additionally, Meagan assists employers in all aspects of their employment relationship with their employees, including on such matters as recruiting and hiring; employment agreements and compensation plans; protection of trade secrets; wage and hour laws; independent contractor status; performance standards and disciplinary actions; privacy; leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations; preventing discrimination, harassment and retaliation; preventing and responding to theft and embezzlement; reductions in force, terminations, and layoffs; and compliance with other state and federal employment laws. Meagan also has a certificate in workplace investigations, and regularly conducts independent and neutral workplace investigations for both public and private employers.

Ryan Abernethy is a senior attorney in Weintraub Tobin’s Labor & Employment and Litigation practice groups. He has successfully represented clients in all areas of employment law, including the defense of claims involving workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, trade secrets infringements, and class actions. He also regularly counsels clients regarding compliance, risk management, policy preparation, and training.

In addition to his employment law practice, Ryan has successfully litigated business, consumer, insurance, contractual, and personal injury disputes, among others. He has obtained defense verdicts in both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. Ryan has also obtained positive results for his clients through arbitration and administrative proceedings. He has negotiated many favorable settlements for his clients.
