Wow! Sacramento has a great story to tell! I just finished reading a new report, “Greater Sacramento Talent Story,” published by the Greater Sacramento Economic Council and CBRE and it paints a far different picture of who is here in our region than the broken records we’ve all been listening to for decades. The report examines access to talent and opportunities for growth across our region and it’s got some nice surprises in it.
Things I learned: Our region is tied for #1 in the nation for the number of women-founded businesses (YES!), Our region ranks #8 among the largest 50 MSAs (metropolitan statistical area) for STEM-related bachelor’s degrees! (we’ve got some smart folks here!) And millennials are moving here in droves — Sacramento is #3 in the nation for “net migration” of people 22-37 years old. (they are our future!) I especially liked all of the quotes in the report from the founders of successful tech companies in our region. Your should read it– download it here!
