Submissions are now being accepted for the 2022 SACRAMENTO REGION INNOVATION AWARDS
Does your local startup or established business have an innovative product, process or service? Maybe your clients or colleagues are disrupting an industry and deserve to be recognized?
The Sacramento Region Innovation Awards, organized and presented by the Sacramento Business Journal, recognize the area’s vibrant innovation community, from emerging to established companies, and their breakthrough creations.
If your company has a product, process, or service that deserves recognition for its creative concept, nominate it for the 2022 Sacramento Region Innovation Awards. The deadline for nominations has been extended to July 6. 2022.
Submissions for the Sacramento Region Innovation Awards will be judged on novelty, market need, economic or social impact, and disruption. The innovation must be created, produced, or deployed in the Greater Sacramento region. The Greater Sacramento-region is defined as Butte, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Solano (east of Fairfield), Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties. The innovation must have been recently developed and innovations from academic entities must be in or near the commercialization stage.
Self-nominations are preferred and encouraged; there is a separate nomination form for third party nominations.

Program Timeline
- Nominations open May 9 – June 28 (extended to July 6)
- Judging period July – August (nominees may be asked to provide supplemental presentations, either in person or via remote connection)
- All Nominee Reception & VIP Pre-Party hosted by the Sacramento Business Journal in September
- Finalists announced by the Sacramento Business Journal in September
- Winners will be announced and honored at the Sacramento Business Journal’s awards program on November 1, 2022.
- Sacramento Business Journal will feature winning innovations in each category in a special section in the November 4, 2022 edition.
