I first heard about HoopMaps, a mobile app that allows people to find pickup games in their area, in 2017 when I saw them pitch at a Kings Capitalize event. I loved the idea, along with the passion that co-founding twin brothers Donte and Dominic Morris brought to their startup venture.
Over the course of two years I’ve watched them pitch at numerous events, including Shark Tank, followed their progress as they amassed an impressive user base, and interviewed them for the first time in March 2017 just as they were starting to experience some impressive media exposure.
Fast forward two years. Donte took second place at our recent StartupSac Warm-Up pitch event and I met up with him again at the Access Sacramento Studio to catch up on what the HoopMaps team has been doing in that time.
