Deema Tamimi is the co-founder and CEO of Giving Garden, a local food & gardening social network launched last year when she and her team won the 2016 Apps for Ag hackathon. She’s also the key organizer of this year’s Apps for Ag hackathon. I met up with Deema at Old Soul Weatherstone in Midtown for some coffee and learned about her experience creating Giving Garden at last year’s hackathon, where it’s at now, along with some details about the upcoming Apps for Ag hackathon that will take place at The Urban Hive.
