What does an online farming startup have in common with a startup that has created a public records search platform? Maybe not much, but two such startups presented yesterday morning at 1 Million Cups Sacramento. Fred Tzeng, founder of Barley Oats Farm and Mike Phillips, cofounder of Vigilant, each pitched their startups to two dozen Sacramento entrepreneurs and innovators at the top of the Renaissance Tower.
The Barley Oats Farm concept is that you rent a garden plot, decide what to grow, and then they farm it and deliver to you.

Vigilant is a powerful public records intelligence platform that lets users conduct research and diligence more comprehensively and efficiently, and monitor for new and relevant records.
