Startup Folsom hosts Transitioning from a Corporate Career to Entrepreneurship Panel Discussion
I had the idea for my first company Apptology when I was working at my corporate job, Cisco. It started as a side hustle that took a lot of my time. When I got laid off, I was actually relieved because working two jobs was killing me. What I didn’t know about entrepreneurship could fill volumes and I had to learn a lot of hard lessons. With the current economy, we’re seeing more and more tech layoffs and we’re seeing more and more corporate jobs come to our startup workshops. Starting your own business is a viable way to survive a layoff. In that light, we are hosting a panel discussion with successful entrepreneurs that made the jump from the corporate world to entrepreneurship.

- Rosario Rodriguez left Sutter Health to start Sutter Street Taqueria (Rosario is also the mayor of Folsom)
