Do you have a new business idea that you want to bring to life? Are you ready to bring on your first customers? Are you ready to grow as an entrepreneur and business owner? Are you looking for a cohort of peers to learn from and provide accountability?
The Capital Region SBDC and the Carlsen Center at Sac State are offering a 10-week long program to support you as a founder in getting to problem/solution fit. The aim is to have you poised to go from zero to your first customer. The lead instructors for the series are Dan Casas-Murray, Founder of The Lean Innovator, and Jessie Becker Alexander, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Carlsen Center. Their years of startup experience and working with early-stage businesses are primed to help you get to the next level.
If you’re ready to launch your business, apply to join the 10-week cohort. As a member of this small cohort, the instructors will help you develop:
• An established value proposition with real traction
• Core marketing channels with results & metrics
• An evidence-based product statement
• A one minute pitch
• An informational pitch deck
In addition to Tuesday content seminars, Cohort participants will receive:
• Exclusive Q&A with successful entrepreneurs
• A strong community of peers and fellow entrepreneurs
• A structure to provide assistance and accountability for business progress
• Small group and one-on-one office hours with Dan Casas-Murray and Jessie Becker Alexander
• Additional free consulting with SBDC business experts
• All the resources the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship has to offer.
If you’re interested in participating as a Cohort member, you must commit to attending the weekly seminars and cohort meetings starting on June 23rd and ending on August 27th. Additionally, to get the most out of the program, expect to spend 2-5 hours per week on the concepts covered in the series.
Weekly Meeting times:
• Tuesdays, 10am-12pm: Content Seminars
• Thursdays, 12:30pm-2pm: Cohort Meetings (will consist of cohort check-ins, exclusive Q&A with successful entrepreneurs, supplemental office hours, and more)
