A couple dozen people turned out yesterday for the weekly 1 Million Cups Sacramento meeting. Yesterday’s two founders were Rajiv Kumar, cofounder of KarmaCircles, a peer-to-peer exchange of skills and services and Joanne Werneke, CEO of PTTrack, a digital health startup that helps people comply with their physical therapy.
Pitching first was KarmaCircles. In the era of shared economy currently there is no platform available to professionals that facilitates peer-2-peer exchange of knowledge and services. Through their Android and iOS apps KarmaCircles allows professionals to seek help and services from other willing professionals. Impressively they already have seed funding and a runway of 8-10 months. Asked what the Sacramento startup community can do for KarmaCircles, Rajiv replied, “Start using the app and recommended it.”
Pitching second was PTTrack. Their wearable and app solution for home and remote physical therapy exercise compliance verification will save 50-90% per patient by eliminating return hospital stays. PTTrack needs mentors in physical therapy expertise, reimbursement, EHRs, and funding.
Both pitching startup once again received great feedback from the audience including new market ideas for PTTrack to explore.
