About Alchemist CDC
Alchemist Community Development Corporation (CDC) is dedicated to fostering vibrant, equitable, healthy, and diverse neighborhoods. Their efforts are dedicated to dismantling systemic barriers and promoting equitable change, acknowledging the historical and ongoing challenges faced by Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Alchemist CDC also honors the heritage and culture of Sacramento’s Indigenous communities, recognizing the Tribal lands of the Nisenan and other local tribes.
What is the Alchemist Microenterprise Academy?
The Alchemist Microenterprise Academy is specifically designed for those interested in launching a food business. Whether you are from a low-income background or an under-resourced community, AMA offers critical knowledge on business financing, marketing, permitting, and crafting a comprehensive business plan. Structured to support around 20 participants per session, the Spring 2025 cohort will run from February 25 to May 14, primarily online, providing an interactive and engaging learning environment with guest speakers and a community of fellow entrepreneurs.
Who Should Apply?
AMA is ideal for individuals passionate about starting their own food business but who may lack the resources or knowledge to do so effectively. The program targets those from low-income or under-resourced communities, aiming to equip them with the necessary tools and support for success. Participants in AMA will also be eligible to apply for the Alchemist Kitchen Incubator Program (AKIP), which provides up to five years of one-on-one mentorship for qualifying businesses.
How to Apply
To apply for the AMA program, attendance at an information session is mandatory. They are offering four live-on-Zoom information sessions on Wednesdays (January 22, 29, and February 5) from 6-7 PM. For those unable to attend a live session, a pre-recorded, on-demand session will are available. Be sure to RSVP for these sessions by clicking here.
