Defining Your Customer and the Market — Big Bang! Mixer and Workshop
A key element in developing a viable business is clearly articulating the problem you are solving and your proposed solution. Ken McGuire will show you how to develop your initial key elements to define your business: the problem, solution, and elevator pitch. Ken is president and CEO of Innovations Health. He earned his MBA from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management in 2004. Workshop runs 6 to 8 p.m. Hosted by the UC Davis Child Family Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Big Bang! is the largest annual business competition in the Sacramento region. More about Mike: A Successful entrepreneur and visionary, Mike Hart, is an articulate and engaging speaker who’s been invited to speak at the White House, the Pentagon, Industry and Greentech Conferences, to name a few. Mike is the President and CEO of Sierra Energy, a waste gasification and renewable energy company he founded in 2004.

Idea to Reality: Business Boot Camp — UC Davis Big Bang! Workshop
This boot camp will get you get caught up on the inside scoop of making the leap from idea to business, validating a problem and solution, and identifying a market and customer. Leave the workshop with a tool set and clear perspective on how to build an effective, appropriate and viable plan and strategy to business. 2016 Global Game Jam
The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. It is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal.
