In this last week of National Mentoring Month, I want to encourage you to participate in a mentoring relationship. Whether you are the mentor or the mentee, these relationships can be so valuable! If you’ve been thinking about checking out Mentor Sacramento, the free platform provided by the City of Sacramento, why not just do it today?! Take a positive step in this last week of the first month of the new year!
Additional Mentoring Resources
In addition to Mentor Sacramento, there are other mentoring resources available in our community. A number of the programs in our region are funded by your tax dollars through the SBA, so get your money’s worth! The Capital Corridor SCORE chapter is powered by volunteer mentors and is a great place to start if you’re just thinking about a new business or are at a very early stage. The Small Business Development Centers (Capital Region SBDC and NorCal SBDC Finance Center) and the California Capital Women’s Business Center provide workshops as well as one-on-one advising for small business owners and startups at every stage. If you’re an Ag or Food Tech startup, AgStart Office Hours where you can book a mentoring session with one of their advisors, are offered monthly. The next one is on Tuesday, February 2. And finally, coming up February 22 is the Sacramento Business Journal’s annual Bizwomen Mentoring Monday! This year it’s happening online and free to attend. You must sign up before noon on February 19 to participate (so do it now!).
Looking for some peer-to-peer mentoring? Connect with other founders in the StartupSac Community Facebook Group. Startup founders and those who support the growth of our startup ecosystem connect and exchange ideas in this private group.
There’s no reason you need to go it alone! Don’t delay – connect with one or more of these free mentoring resources NOW!
