Free Founders Workshop at Innogrove!
Rushing through the customer validation process or even skipping it altogether is a common (and costly) startup business mistake. Instead of using hard data, founders often rely too heavily on their own assumptions and put too much value in the opinions of others. In this workshop, we’ll teach you the Lean Startup Method of customer validation as well as tips and tricks for collecting the data you need to make the right decisions.
Topics to be Covered
- Definition of customer validation in the context of the Lean Startup Method
- How to use digital tools to streamline the validation process
This workshop is part of Innogrove’s monthly Founders Series.
When: Wed, February 28, 2018
Where: Innogrove Coworking, 8153 Elk Grove Blvd, Suite 20 Elk Grove, CA 95758
About the Presenter
Dan Casas-Murray
After 11 years of a steady paycheck, good status at his job, yearly pay raises and nice benefits, Dan left the US Army to become cashless, jobless, and just another civilian in Baghdad, Iraq. Within a year there, Dan co-founded a wireless Internet Service Provider, providing internet connections to around 400 people on a military base. Two years later, the company was providing communication services to multiple Department of Defense contractors and international security firms in the area. At the end of 2014, the company had grossed a little over $3 million in revenues.
In 2012, Dan returned back to the Sacramento area with his wife, Maria after 5 years abroad. They purchased a small frozen yogurt and cupcake shop in Roseville, and worked to establish a customer base there. By the end of 2015, they had grown the business to a total of three brick and mortar locations in the Roseville / Rocklin areas.
At the beginning of 2016, Dan joined Hacker Lab as an equity partner, and has since then worn many hats. His current focuses are assisting in an economic feasibility study for Hacker Lab growth in the Yuba / Sutter Region and conducting Startup Hustle, a 9 week bootcamp for Entrepreneurs that helps them locate and engage with their target audiences, enabling them to build a customer base before launching their startups.
