Judges and finalist of Kings Capitalize 2018

Fifteen regional startups and dozens of Sacramento startup community people convened at the Golden 1 Center yesterday for the 2018 Kings Capitalize pitch competition. The startups presenting represented a range of industries, including, AgTech and Food, EdTech, Medical and Life Sciences, Games, and more.

The semi-finalists pitched in front of a judging panel of seven judges, including:

  • Kwame Anku – Founding Principal and C0founder of Black Angel Tech Fund
  • Mark Haney – Founder of Haney Business Ventures, Inc.
  • Mairtini Ni Dhomhnaili – Founder at Countsy
  • Suraj Patel – Principal at Bow Capital
  • John Rinehart – President, Business Operation for the Sacramento Kings
  • Louis Stewart – Chief Innovation Officer of the City of Sacramento
  • Connie Tang – Chief of Staff at Xperiel

Each startup had five minutes to pitch, followed by a series of questions from the judges. The judging criteria included; the problem that the startup was addressing, the solution to the problem, the market size, the team, and the business model.

Here, in the order that they presented are the startups that pitched. Thanks to rock start live-tweeters Laura Good and Rich Foreman, you can almost get a sense of being there.
