Refactoring Older JS Frameworks to Modern Vanilla JavaScript

September 17 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

If you’re still running JQuery, Knockout, or Backbone as your front end to your applications, it is time for a change. Modern JavaScript has built in many, if not all, the features that drew you to them 10 to 15 years ago.

Why should you update? ES2023 is fast, secure, doesn’t require any frameworks or build tools, and you won’t need to keep an eye on whether a new version has appeared. It is built into browsers, and it’s an easy transition!

This month **Obi Baratt**, a software developer @ Idea Foundry, will cover key features you loved in your old school framework and show you how to easily move that functionality to simple, performant JavaScript.

This event is being hosted by our friends at the Bike Dog Brewing East Sac! There will be a food truck and beverages are available for purchase on-site.

**This meetup group is dedicated to providing a harassment-free communication experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form.**
