**Progressive Game Jam Season 11 is here!**
PGJ is an ongoing, **9-month-long game jam** running from **September to May**, where teams are formed around a game idea pitched on day one. You and your team will work together throughout the entire jam to create a complete game. **You can join at any point** in the process, so don’t worry if you missed the first session!
We’re holding a raffle at this meeting of PGJ on Saturday, November 16 for a copy of Dragon Age: The Veilguard! To enter, simply attend the meeting and give us your name; we’ll hold the raffle near the end of the event. There will be five luck winners, so don’t miss out!
What’s more, **PGJ teams will receive a free 6-ft table space** at the Capital Creative Showcase (CCS) to display the game they developed, giving you the chance to showcase your work to the public.
***FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:***
**Q: Do I need prior experience in game development?**
**A:** Not at all! PGJ is open to people of all skill levels. Whether you’re completely new or a seasoned developer, this jam is designed to foster a collaborative and supportive environment where you can learn and grow.
**Q: What is the theme for PGJ?**
**A:** There’s no set theme! You’re free to pitch any idea you’re passionate about. The jam focuses on creativity and innovation, so let your imagination run wild.
**Q: How much does it cost to enter?**
**A**: It’s **completely free** to participate, so dive in and start creating!
**Q: Do I need to bring anything to the event?**
**A:** Bring yourself and any tools you’ll need, like a laptop, software, or art supplies. We’ll handle the rest!
**Q: Can I pitch a game after the first meeting?**
**A:** Yes, but it is advised you join a team rather pitching a new one. It’s harder to get people to join on a new concept the farther the jam goes on. We recommend instead joining another ongoing team.
**Q: Can I pitch a game I’m already working on?**
**A:** Yes, but we recommend pitching new ideas. It’s easier for teams to collaborate on a fresh concept, and ongoing projects can be trickier to integrate.
**Q: What if I can’t commit to the full 9 months?**
**A:** No problem! You’re welcome to join the jam at any stage, even if you can only participate for part of it. Just jump in when you can, and contribute as much as you’re able to.
**Q: Can I drop in just to say hi?**
**A:** Yup, absolutely!
**Q: What other benefits are there to participating?**
**A:** Aside from developing a game and collaborating with an awesome team, you’ll gain hands-on experience, professional feedback, and the chance to showcase your game at CCS—plus, you’ll make valuable industry connections along the way!
Come be part of **Progressive Game Jam Season 11**—whether you’re a developer, artist, sound designer, or just curious about making games, there’s a place for you!
