Join us on Dec. 5th for an information session to learn more about he Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA), located in McClellan, CA, which is a Federal Research & Development (R&D) laboratory facility established in March 1997 by the Deputy Secretary of Defense as the Department of Defense (DoD) Center for microelectronics technology, acquisition, transformation, and support. DMEA is the DoD’s leading authority on microelectronics and executes its mission to provide vital parts and services in innovative ways to meet the needs of the DoD and enable the Warfighter.*
DMEA participates in the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs which are highly competitive and encourage domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) with the potential for commercialization. DMEA develops SBIR and STTR topics that are prioritized with preference to topics that lead to manufacturing opportunities at DMEA and commercialization. Through an awards-based program, the SBIR and STTR programs enable small businesses to explore their technological potential and provide the incentive to profit from its commercialization.
DMEA also purchases engineering and other technical consulting services; electronics and semiconductor-related device manufacturing; software, software maintenance and licenses; laboratory, scanner, test, and x-ray equipment; construction: lab and facilities upgrades; and facilities support services: landscape maintenance, janitorial, security, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, painting, etc., in support of its mission.
DMEA recognizes the innovation, flexibility, affordability, and technology solutions that small businesses offer to meet its programs and mission and is committed to maximizing opportunities for small businesses in its acquisition. Small businesses that provide the products and services that DMEA procures and are interested in learning more about its SBIR/STTR Program are encouraged to attend this one-hour workshop to learn more about DMEA and how to do business with them.
If any special accommodations are needed please let us know at least two weeks in advance to secure the needed accommodations.
